As part of the businesses on going market diversification strategy, Therco’s QHS&E Management Systems came under the scrutiny of the Achilles Audit Team during October 2011. UVDB Verify (empowered by Achilles) is a service for professional procurement used by many large utility companies for potential supplier selection throughout the power generation, transmission & distribution, nuclear, water and telecom industries. During June 2010 Thercos HSE&Q Management Systems came under the highest level of scrutiny to date. Well in advance of the Bank of England’s realization that the UK's recovery from recession would be a Manufacturing/Export lead process, Therco had embarked on a clear export development strategy. In support of this largely commercially based plan, a key decision was made to transfer the accreditation of our Management Systems to a more widely known authority, namely Lloyds Register Quality Assurance Ltd.

During 2008/2009, Therco was engaged by the Ineos Jacobs Engineering Alliance for the supply of Air Cooled Condenser Bundles for Scotland’s giant Grangemouth Oil Refinery. Whilst at first this may appear to be a standard order for Therco, the highlights (below) from the Jacobs Engineering Specification tell a different story. As the content of Thercos Export Sales ledger grows, so does its experience in shipping over sized equipment packages around the world. During 2009 Therco was engaged by a Facilities Management Contractor operating in the Sultanate of Oman, for the supply of a variety of Engine Cooling Packages. The initial tendering process involved a detailed site survey in Oman to verify key plant interfaces and thus ensure the end users installation process ran smoothly and with the minimum possible interruption to supply.

During difficult times when resources are stretched it’s easy to put progress on hold. Whilst far from immunised from the global recession, we’re pleased to confirm Therco’s continued push towards meeting its corporate aspirations has taken another successful leap forward. Our newly integrated management system which harmonises the requirements of ISO9001, ISO14001 & OHSAS18001 came under the scrutiny of our external auditors during November. Following which, we’re pleased to announce we’ve been recommended for full approval.
