‘R’ STAMP, CERTIFICATE OF AUTHORISATION

Therco is delighted to announce this further addition to its accreditation arsenal. This latest certificate, issued by the National Board of Boiler & Pressure Vessel Inspectors, confirms Therco is now duly authorised to use the ‘R’ symbol in relation to Shop Based Repairs and/or Alterations. From an Engineering & Safety point of view, the additional peace of mind which this can provide for Plant Engineers, Maintenance & Asset Managers (and of course their own Inspection Authorities) we believe, will be significant.

Quarter 2 2009

FAST TRACK BUNDLES

Therco’s material stock philosophy along with its machining, drilling and fitting capability was put to the test at the beginning of March 2009. At the request of a key client / partner, Therco manufactured 20 replacement tube bundles over a 2 week period from serial number data only. A ships breakdown status was thereby kept to an absolute minimum. With the main metallurgy being 90/10 copper nickel, the work scope on these sea water cooled bundles is detailed opposite.

U-STAMP ACCREDITATION SUCCESS

Firstly, whist 2009 will bring new challenges for us all, on behalf of everyone at Therco may we take this opportunity wish you all a Happy and prosperous New Year. Secondly, following a two day audit by the ASME review committee, we are delighted to announce that Therco is now duly authorised to design, manufacture and certify ‘U’ stamped Pressure Vessels, Air Cooled & Tubular Heat Exchangers. This rigorous audit was a welcome test of the most recent developments within our QA system.

Quarter 4 2008

TRANSFORMER OIL COOLERS

Through 2007 & 2008 and in addition to those supplied to its UK client base, Therco has supplied 36 x Transformer Oil Coolers to the Castle A&B PowerStation’s in Hong Kong. The ‘like for like’ replacements were manufactured from our Serck serial number and drawing archive dating back to 1983 in this instance. This precise interchangeability enabled the outages at the stations to be kept to an absolute minimum with no pipe work or instrumentation alterations being required.
